WWF Climate Agenda Phone Conference

Last Wednesday, May 26 th the WWF organized a phone conference about the climate agenda. The speakers were Kim Carstensen (leader of WWF Global Climate Initiative, WWF International. Formerly CEO of WWF Denmark) and Tasneem Essop (International Climate Policy Advocate, WWF South Africa)

June is going to be an exiting month in the climate front, during this month the first UNFCCC session after Copenhagen will take place and also G8 and G20 are going to meet.

Issues expected to be discussed by the UNFCCC in Bonn this June are:

• Finance (governance of the finances, measurement and reporting of the finances, new and innovative sources)
• Adaptation 
• Reduction of emission from deforestation and forest degradation
• Corporation and technology transfer

Also, two important Issues that should be discused by the G20 are: fossil fuels substitutes and climate finances

All this meetings are previous to the UNFCCC meeting in Cancun this December
